Dr. Bobby L. Wilson holds a chair in environmental toxicology endowed by Shell and is the L. Lloyd Woods Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Texas Southern University. He is chairman of the executive board of the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers and has served as a program director at the National Science Foundation. Dr. Wilson’s work as co-principal investigator on a National Science Foundation program promoting science, technology, engineering and math engagement by minority students has brought the university recognition. Dr. Wilson has also served as the university’s provost and acting president. He earned his doctorate in chemistry from Michigan State University.
